Comfort hearts for breast cancer surgery

Quota International of Weyburn made a donation on Friday of 21 "heart" cushions to the Sun Country Health Region, to be given to women who have recently undergone breast surgery. Quota made the hearts on the suggestion of a member who discovered the cushions, which are placed under the arm, made post-op recovery less uncomfortable. The health region has partnered with Quota to distribute the cushions. Penny wars proceeds to Salvation Army

Joel Molder signs the cheque as Capt. Raelene Russell, centre of back row, gathers with the Student Activities Council at the Weyburn Junior High to accept a donation towards the Salvation Army's food bank. The school raised a total of $2,580.74, which will go towards helping to replenish the food bank's shelves after they helped meet people's needs at Christmas time. The SAC includes the following, not necessarily in order: Alesha Johnson, Ginny Chell, Kendall McCormick, Austin Shauf, Brayden Jensen, Jason Shelly, Justin Tracey, Tanis Kilback, Jamie Berling, Ali Hilkewich, Kendra Weimer, Renee Nault, Skyelar Verbeurgt, Brandy Walker, Priyanka Yadav, Kelsey Nagy, Sara Lazurko, Ryland Squires, Joel Molder and Holly Andrews.
