Evan Nyhus, a member of the Soo Line Boxing Club, fought against a former national and current Alberta champion in a card over the weekend.

Nyhus, weighing 165 lbs., lost a close split decision against Andrew Graham at a card in Calgary, Alta.

Nyhus, who lives in Ceylon, recently re-joined the Soo Line Boxing Club after two years with the Lonsdale Boxing Club in Regina.

He and Joel Franks are confirmed members of the Saskatchewan team heading to Under-19 Nationals in Brantford, Ont., from Feb. 17-20.

The Soo Line Boxing Club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Weyburn Youth Centre. New members are always welcome.
