The deadline for submitting nominations for one of the volunteer awards for regional recreation is fast approaching on Monday, Feb. 28. The Southeast Saskatchewan Association for Culture, Recreation and Sport (SESACRS) has awards in a wide range of categories, and the awards will be handed out this year on Thursday, April 28 at the Kipling Hall, with the awards and entertainment at 2 p.m. and supper at 5 p.m. The award categories include heritage, culture, recreation, youth, parent, sport administrator of the year, athlete of the year, team of the year, official of the year and coach of the year. For an awards nomination form, contact Bob King in Weyburn. In addition, SESACRS will hold both parts A and B of the National Coaching Certification Program in Weyburn. Part B of the Intro to Competition course will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 1-2, at the Comp School, from 7-10 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Part A of the Intro to Competition course will also be held at the Comp the following weekend, on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9 at the same times. To register, contact Bob King. |
