The Speaker enters the House

Legislative Speaker Myron Kowalsky, dressed in his official robes and tri-corner hat, is led into the Assembly by sergeant-at-arms Mahder Gaber, and is followed by the clerk, Alexie Hudson. The Grade 8 students were re-enacting the opening of the House, with the balance of the students arranged on either side as the Government (at right) and Opposition at St. Michael Junior High on Wednesday. Speaker Kowalsky visited the school to explain the proper procedures and history of the Parliamentary process to the junior high class, and he took part in a mock sitting, including introduction of petitions, members' statements and voting on bills.
