Three local Youth Bowling Council (YBC) teams will be headed to provincials this Sunday, March 13, in Regina. Two bantam boys and girls' teams, along with a junior boys' team, will be entered in provincials. The bantam girls include Ashley Skjerdal, Ashley Rossow, Leanne Myer, Nicole Zastrow and Karlee Wick. They are coached by Tom Sliwka. The bantam boys include Ryan Lokken, Tanner Quintyn, Troy Patterson, Dylan Ellerbeck and Tyson Eggum. They are coached by Darla Brenholen. The junior boys include Dylan McDonald, Logan Faber, Nathan Walliser, Byron Shangraw and Dylan Maas. They are coached by Leslie Walliser. Three other single bowlers, all representing the Weyburn Superbowl, will also be at the YBC provincials. Sebastian Kaytor (bantam boys), Erica Williams (junior girls) and Braden Jensen (senior boys) qualified out of the Southeast Zone and must finish first to advance to Nationals in Vancouver. Recently, the Superbowl also played host to two major events, the TSN and CBC House Championships. In the TSN championship, on the men's side, Josh Neuberger was first with an average of 237 in 10 games, Kasey Fowler was second with an average of 231 points and Marlowe Szczecinski was third with an average of 228. On the women's side, Leslie Walliser was first with a 250 average and Linda Grams was second with a 237 average. These five have qualified for the TSN Southern Provincials in Weyburn on May 8. The winner from this event advances to the National TSN Pins Game. In the CBC Championship, on the men's side, the winner was Ryan Englot with a 257 average in 10 games. Josh Neuberger was second with an average of 228. They qualified for the South Championship in Yorkton on April 24. The Women's House round was won by Walliser with a 250 average in 10 games. Grams was second with an average of 237. Both advance to provincials in Saskatoon. |
