Milestone to host 14th Indoor Rodeo April 14-17

The town of Milestone is gearing up for one of its largest events, the 14th annual Milestone Indoor Rodeo, this Thursday to Sunday, April 14-17.

The rodeo will be held mainly at the Milestone Rec Centre, with the social events to be held at the curling rink.

Wade Beck, chairman of the Milestone Rodeo committee, said there are more than 200 entries for the CCA/MRCA rodeo. Registration was on Monday for the high school rodeo, so the number of entries was not known at the time of publication.

The rodeo begins on Thursday, April 14, with a barrel-racing jackpot, sponsored by the Saskatchewan Barrel Racing Association, at 7 p.m.

On Friday, April 15, the high school rodeo will begin at 11 a.m., with the CCA/MRCA rodeo beginning at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, April 16, the day will begin with a high school cutting competition at 9 a.m. The regular high school competition then begins at 11 a.m.

The CCA/MRCA rodeo then begins at 7 p.m.

That same night, there will be a cabaret held at the curling rink from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Dixie Hiway will be performing. This cabaret is for ages 19 and over only.

Admission to the cabaret is $10.

On Sunday, April 17, there will be a Christian Cowboy service at the curling rink at 11 a.m. The CCA/MRCA rodeo resumes at 2 p.m.

Admission is dependent on whether you wish to enter the high school or CCA/MRCA rodeos.

For the high school event, admission is $5 for adults and free for those under 16.

For the CCA rodeo, admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages five to 16. Those under five get in free.
Weekend wristbands are also available for $35.
