A display of historic clothing will be on display for the Soo Line Historical Museum's Centennial fashion show on Sunday, May 1, at the museum. Due to the limited seating, there will be two showings, at 2 and 7 p.m., and tickets are $10 in advance. There are about 40 seats available for each showing. The clothing to be featured is from the collection housed at the Soo Line Historical Museum, with clothing from each decade in the past century, from the 1900s through to the present day, said curator and manager Lavine Stepp. Most of the clothing to be modeled are for women, along with some for children and for men. The clothing all had to be cleaned and pressed, and then fitted to models. Refreshments will follow the fashion show. The tickets are available from the museum, as well as from the Co-op food store and Superior Office Products. This Centennial event is a fund-raiser for the museum, with the proceeds to help go towards the operations of the museum. In addition to the clothing which will be modeled, a number of items will be displayed on mannequins, which were too delicate to be worn in the show. |
