The Stoughton Fire Department will be one of the recipients of a fund-raiser being run by a local Esso associate, Universal Contract Logistics, through the Esso Farm Community Growth Fund.

This is the second year owner Richard Bowes has brought the fund to the communities his company serves. In this fund-raiser, every litre of farm fuel bought between April 1 and Oct. 30, 2005, will go towards vital, life-saving equipment for the fire departments at Stoughton and Lampman.

From now until Oct. 30, Esso will donate up to a penny per litre, with potential of $10,000 being donated towards the purchase of fire fighting equipment.

In the past number of years, Bowes, a native of Stoughton, has supported local minor hockey clubs and other organizations in the Stoughton and surrounding area.
