Brad Johner to perform at Midale fund-raiser June 10

Brad Johner is coming home on Friday, June 10, as he plays a concert at the Harry O. Memorial Arena in Midale to help raise funds for the local Rec Board.

A veteran of the Canadian country music stage, Johner, a Midale native, has been touring Canada in support of his solo debut album "Free," and is also using the occasion to raise money for charity organizations. (Recently, he appeared on the Telemiracle 2005.)

"Free" has spawned a number of hit singles and videos on CMT for Brad. He received a 2003 Western Canada Music Award for Outstanding Country Album and two CCMA nominations fo Album of the Year and SOCAN Song of the Year.

Of course, Brad is well-known to country fans as one half of the Johner Brothers, who released four albums and over two dozen singles to the radio throughout the 1990s. They garnered three Juno nominations, two CCMA wins and three dozen Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards, including "Entertainers of the Decade."

Brad then struck out on his solo career in 2002.

Concert time is 7:30 p.m. at the Harry O. Memorial Arena. Tickets are available at most Midale businesses, the Macoun Co-op or by calling Dan Gallagher, rec director in Midale.

The Midale Rec Board is a non-profit organization that helps to provide sport and recreational activities to the people of Midale and area.

Their main focus is on the operation of the community's hockey and curling rinks.
