Red Wings win the Royal Bank Cup!!!

The Weyburn Red Wings gather together with the National Junior 'A' Championship Trophy following their unbelievable 3-2 victory on Sunday afternoon over the Camrose Kodiaks. Weyburn's winning streak at the Royal Bank Cup was no less than dumbfounding: a host team with an admittedly poor season record and more than a month off before the Royal Bank Cup, they overcome a 2-1 loss in their first game to dominate the remainder of the tournament and blow all the competition, even a heavily-favoured Camrose team that finished their year among the top teams in Canada. Visiting calves up close

Cameron and Morgan Schettler and their mother Marcia have a close-up visit with some of the calves at the Haupstein dairy farm, during a visit by the Weyburn Co-operative Playschool on Friday morning. The children and their parents were taken through the milking parlour, a large barn for housing and feeding cows, and an area where newborn calves are raised using mother's milk during their tour of the dairy operation.
