Grabbing the Steer's Ribbon

Celebrity team member Russ Chartrand, representing the city police, grabs the ribbon from the steer's head after the steer was team-tied at the head and hoof by two members of the Yellow team, Reid Goodwin and Chase Thue. After the ribbon is removed, the ropes must be removed from the steer to stop the clock. This was one of 10 events at the Weyburn Ag Society's Ranch Rodeo held Sunday afternoon at the exhibition grounds. This rodeo was held as a fund-raiser for the Ag Society's grandstand project.

Queen Elizabeth Wins National Phys.Ed award

Students from the various grades at Queen Elizabeth School, along with the two staff members who comprise the school's In Motion committee, proudly show off the banner they won for their Quality Physical Education program. Standing at back, from left, are Daniel Fellner, Logan Lazurko, Dakken Bedore and Kyle Crozier. In front from left are Jonnae Haupstein, Britnee Adacsi, Dustin Mainil, Dakota Borys and Sarah Moule. The two teachers are Coleen Barrett and Susan Nedelcov Anderson. The Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance has recognized that the school, its teachers and students are "excellent role models" and were awarded the Gold award level. This level denotes that the school provides all students with quality Phys. Ed three to four times a week, for a minimum of 100 minutes.
