Weyburn and area experienced its wettest June in 10 years as an estimated 139.8 millimetres of precipiation fell on the city, according to weather records kept by the City of Weyburn water filtration plant. The precipitation from June of 2005 was higher than all other Junes stretching back to 1995, and it well overshot the 10-year average of 80.6 millimetres. Only one other year came even close to June of 2005: in 1998, an estimated 132.8 millimetres fell on Weyburn and area. Temperature-wise, it was relatively normal, as only one day broke a record this month. On June 22, the high was 34.5C, breaking the previously record high of 33.5C, which was set in 2001. June 22 was also the hottest day of the month. Throughout June, the average high temperature was 22.2C, slightly lower than the 10-year average of 22.6C The average low temperature was 11.8C, a little bit higher than the 10-year average of 10.2C. It was colder than in 2004, when the average high was 20C and the average low was 8.5C. The mean temperature for June was 17C, a little higher than the 10-year average mean of 16.4C. |
