The Village of Lang will be holding an Old Fashioned Homecoming this Friday to Sunday, July 22-24. Former and current residents have been invited to take part in the festivities. According to organizers, they have had a good response from former residents. "We have had some replies back," said organizer Garry Wahl, adding that replies are still coming in. Lang's Homecoming will kick off on Friday, July 22 with registration in the hall at 3 p.m., followed by a ham and scalloped potato supper at 4:30. A parade will be held in the evening, starting at 7 p.m. with coffee and cake afterwards. Special presentations will be done while coffee and cake is being served up. Following the cake and coffe on Friday will be "mainstreeting". Organizations and clubs from around the village will set up street vendors on main street. It is also a time for residents from past and present to catch up and visit. The evening will wind down with comedian Tommy Savitt performing at the Octane Lounge at 9:30 p.m. Saturday will start off with a brunch in the morning at the hall. In the afternoon, there will be activities for the kids in the rink and at 2 p.m. the Heritage presentations will be done. The presentations will give certificates to businesses, farms, or anyone who has lived in the same residence for 80 years or more. There is also going to be a presentation of "country school" signs and maps. A beef supper will be supplied at 5 p.m. with a cost of $10 per adult to eat.
