Wheat sheaf reflections

Two of Weyburn's distinctive wheat sheaf sculptures along Highway 39 are reflected in the calm waters of the Souris River on Friday morning. The wheat sheaves provide a distinctive welcome for visitors, with many expected to be in the city for Homecoming Week and the Weyburn Wheat Festival, the week of Aug. 1-7.

Setting up for the boardwalk

Workers help set a steel beam in place on pilings alongside the Souris River on Friday, in preparation for building a boardwalk from Government Road over to Third Street. The boardwalk is the City of Weyburn's Centennial project, and will include additional touches such as benches and lighting. The project is paid for through a federal-provincial Centennial grant.
