New's fried bread dough

Carla New is making a batch of her popular fried bread dough on Saturday at the Midale Pioneer Threshing Days. The bread was being made in the Indbom house and those who got some bread dough had the option of having the bread dough plain or with sugar, icing sugar or brown sugar.

Setting up for the boardwalk

Workers help set a steel beam in place on pilings alongside the Souris River on Friday, in preparation for building a boardwalk from Government Road over to Third Street. The boardwalk is the City of Weyburn's Centennial project, and will include additional touches such as benches and lighting. The project is paid for through a federal-provincial Centennial grant.
