The Weyburn Red Wings announced on Friday that Weyburn will be hosting the Consolation final of the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge at the Colosseum on Jan. 3, 2006.

There will be five regional teams from Canada, the U.S. National Under 17 team and four teams from Europe.

The teams from Europe will be from the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany and Slovakia. Teams from Canada will be Team Pacific, which is British Columbia and Alberta; Team Western, which is Saskatchewan and Manitoba; Team Ontario; Team Quebec and Team Atlantic.

The tournament run from Dec. 29-Jan. 4 with Regina to play host to two games per day and the Championship final, and Moose Jaw will be hosting one game per day. Others games will be played in Southey, Fort Qu'Appelle, Indian Head, Milestone and Balgonie.

Tickets will be available at the Red Wings office starting on Sept. 8. Season ticket holders will have until Sept. 30 to purchase tickets and reserve their season ticket seats for this game. After the Sept. 30 date, the tickets will go on sale to the general public.
