'Windows to Weyburn' Centennial quilt unveiled

Quilter Margo Jacob shows off the special "Windows to Weyburn" quilt she put together as a Centennial art project for the Weyburn Arts Council, unveiled for the first time on Thursday afternoon at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery. She spent close to 70 hours altogether on the project, which shows historic and present-day photos of Weyburn, with many of the photos provided through the Weyburn Review's "A Century in Review" project for the 100th anniversary of Weyburn's founding, along with photos of her own and from the museum. The border around the quilt is Saskatchewan's dress tartan pattern. The quilt was unveiled at a gathering to present pins from the Lieutenant-Governor to members of Weyburn's arts community in commemoration of the Centennial.
