Gerad Fox, Mat Larson and Devin Ledingham, of Weyburn, are playing for Team Saskatchewan's baseball team at the Jeux du Canada Games in Regina. The three players now have the challenge of working with former opposition from the Western Major Baseball League (WMBL) to win a gold medal. Gerad Fox, 19, spent last season as an outfielder for the Weyburn Senior Beavers. Fox finished the WMBL season with a batting average of .231. He is currently going to school at Williston State College. Mat Larson, 19, was a starting pitcher for the Senior Beavers this year and has a record of two wins and three losses and an ERA of 6.03. Larson is currently attending Des Moines Area Community College. Devin Ledingham, 19, is a catcher for the Senior Beavers this season. His batting average for the Beavers was .241. Ledingham is currently going to school at the Prairie Baseball Academy in Lethbridge, Alta. Team Saskatchewan won their first game on Monday with a 11-1 victory over Newfoundland and Labrador. Ledingham scored two runs in the victory. On Tuesday Saskatchewan played British Columbia in the morning and Alberta in the evening, however due to publication deadlines, the results were not available. Team Saskatchewan's next game is today against Quebec at Currie Field. Game time for the match is 8:30 p.m. |
