City police investigate two break-ins

The Weyburn city police are investigating a pair of business break-ins in the past week.

A break-and-enter took place at the Subway restaurant, and then at the Soo Line Day Care, late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

At the Subway, the culprits tried unsuccessfully to open the safe, while a small amount of cash was stolen from the day care.

The Weyburn RCMP are investigating an incident at Nickle Lake Regional Park, as some time overnight Aug. 12-13, an unknown person entered six different lots, disassembled the trailer hitches from the various vehicles at the lots and stolen them.

If anyone has information on any of these incidents, they can call the city police or RCMP, or the toll-free Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers tips line at -1-800-667-8477. Callers do not have to reveal their identity, and tips which lead to the arrest of those responsible are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000. Calls are not recorded or traced.
