4-H flag-bearers

Sara Lazurko and Robert Pineo ride around the grandstand arena, with the Centennial and Saskatchewan flags respectively, to begin the old-fashioned horse show put on by the Weyburn 4-H Light Horse Club on Sunday. The 4-H club, plus some friends, put on old-fashioned competitions as part of Weyburn's celebrations of Saskatchewan's Centennial, such as pole-bending and stake races as part of the many activities ongoing at the exhibition grounds.

Happy 100th, Saskatchewan!

The students and staff of Souris School form the shape of a 100 on Friday morning in celebration of Saskatchewan's Centennial. Elementary schools around Weyburn got the jump on the provincial celebrations by holding their own unique events on Friday, but Saskatchewan was definitely bustling on Sunday, with parties in every major city and synchronized fireworks display in 15 communities. Happy 100th, Saskatchewan!
