Centennial Homes Tour

Guests at the Centennial Homes Tour and High Tea prepare to get into Neil Eddy's 1954 Lincoln at the Soo Line Historical Museum on Sunday for the tour. From left to right are Debbie Garrett, Joyce Prieb, driver Neil Eddy, Joan Henry and Adele Helmeczi. About 50 people attended the tour with each car taking about four guests. The tour took them through several heritage homes around Weyburn including the Eaglesham house, Moffat place and the Russell house. The classic cars were provided by private owners and members of the antique car club.

Cutting of the skateboard ribbon

Youth Centre executive director Brian Hopfe and skateboard park project manager Jim Alexander hold either end of a skateboard as Mayor Don Schlosser uses a jig saw to cut it in half, as board member Ken Fedun watches at right. The unusual ceremony was held to officially open the Weyburn Youth Centre's skateboard park on Sept. 4, as part of the Saskatchewan Centennial celebrations on the exhibition grounds. A skating team from Regina was also on hand to put on a demonstration of tricks and moves, and to do a workshop and competition with local skaters.
