Soo Line Museum sees increase in attendance

The attendance this summer at the Soo Line Historical Museum has gone up about 16.5 per cent compared to last year

There were 2,141 people who passed through the museum from May 23 to Sept. 5, compared to 1,838 people last year.

The dramatic increase in attendance is being attributed to several major events around Weyburn this summer, including the Homecoming and Saskatchewan Centennial celebrations.

Although the attendance has been up, there has been a slight decrease in tourist information requests.

The Historical Museum had 899 tourist information requests this summer compared to 964 requests last summer. It is a decrease of about seven per cent.

The Soo Line Historical Museum is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
