Staff and students from Assiniboia Park School show
off their new peace pole, unveiled on Wednesday morning to mark
International Peace Day. The pole features the word peace in
several languages, including Greek, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic,
along with the international peace sign symbol. In back from
left are staff Joanne Thomson, Jackie Wilson and Shelley Glab.
The students are, from left, Alexander Dyck, Kirk Kater, Ashley
Rossow, James Giroux, Ethan Dubasov, Tatum Abel and Kerrston
Johnston. At the unveiling, a number of dignitaries were on hand,
including Coun. Ray Hamm from the City of Weyburn, Bryan Wilson
from the Sunrise school board, and Jan Chell, director of education. |
