Warm and dry weather prevails in September

The weather for the month of September was warmer and drier than the long-term average for the city of Weyburn, which helped area farmers get much of their harvesting done for the year.

The average high temperature was 21.3, up from the long-term high of 19.4, while the average low was 6.1, compared to the long-term average of 5.1.

The overall mean temperature was 13.7, which is up from the long-term average of 12.3.

The total rainfall for September was 5.4 millimetres, significantly lower than the long-term average of 36.2 mm. This month's total was only slightly above the record low precipitation of 3.3 mm set in 1960.

There were no temperature records set in September this year. The warmest temperature recorded was 31 degrees on Sept. 9, and the coolest was -2.5, set on Sept. 28.
