Four entrants chosen in Wacky Veggie contest

We asked for the "wild and wacky" and we got that, and more, in the first-ever Weyburn Review Wild and Wacky Veggie Contest.

There were a total of 42 entries in the contest's first edition, with veggies taking the form of everything from animals (ducks, seals, camel heads) to babies, hands, legs and even a Siamese pair. They were provided by residents of the city and of many surrounding parts of our readership area.

There were many worthy contenders for the prizes, provided by sponsors Weimer's Hometown, the Weyburn Co-op, Sears and the City Centre Mall.

In the end, four winners were chosen for the prizes, with Ken Johner winning first place, Karen Jordan taking second, Dakota Mutrie placed third and Amy Zyla came fourth.

To see the winners, along with other entrants, check out the Oct. 19 edition of the Weyburn Review, where these entries will be showcased with a full page of veggies of every size and description.
