Practicing for Communithon

Grade 6 students from Haig School practice their choreography while playing the song, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, on the recorder on Friday. They will be singing and playing two songs on the recorder for the United Way Communithon along with the Grade 1-5 classes from Haig School. All of the schools in Weyburn will be performing for the Communithon which will be held on Friday, Oct. 21 and Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Legion Hall.

Eagles win in shoot-out

Camille Megenbir battles for the ball with a Caronport defender during the Weyburn Comp Eagles girls soccer provincial qualifier on Wednesday at Jubilee Park. The Eagles were up 1-0 until Caronport scored late in the second half to tie the game and force a shoot-out. Weyburn came out on top with a 2-1 victory and will play in the provincial finals in Lloydminster on Oct. 28 and 29.
