Report cards for students at Weyburn Comprehensive School will be given out on Tuesday, Nov. 8, with parent-student-teacher interviews to take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Arrangements will be made for a time for each interview, and all parents are expected to be there. Due to the interviews and the holiday for Remembrance Day on Friday, Nov. 11, students will be off for a four-day weekend. The WCS drama department will present the play, "Anne of Green Gables" in early December. Watch for dates and plan to attend. The WCS annual Fowl Supper will be held on Monday, Nov. 28. The WCS girls soccer team returned from the 2A provincials in Lloydminster with a bronze medal this past weekend, the first medal ever for a soccer team at WCS. The only loss was to Moose Jaw Central in the semi-finals by a score of 4-2. The Eagles football team's season also ended last week with a 24-8 loss to Yorkton in the quarter-final playoffs in Regina at Taylor Field. This coming weekend, the senior girls volleyball team will play their last tournament of the year in Lumsden after winning gold at their home tournament this past weekend. The senior boys will be in Yorkton after losing out in the quarter-finals at a tournament in Balgonie. The junior girls lost in the semi-finals at a tournament in Midale, and will host the Southeast District Intermediate playoffs in Weyburn on Thursday, Nov. 3. The junior boys are in a tournament in Balgonie this weekend, and will end their season at the District Intermediates in Estevan on Nov. 8. |
