The weather in the month of October was warmer and drier than the long-term average for the city of Weyburn and area, according to the monthly statistics from the city's water filtration plant. The city's weather station is maintained at the plant, with the long-term average based on records going back to 1952. The average high temperature in October was 13.5, higher than the long-term average high of 11.9 degrees, while the average low was -0.65, warmer than the average -1.18. The overall mean temperature was 6.4, more than a full degree warmer than the long-term average mean of 5.35. Weyburn received a total of 4.6 millimetres of rain in October, the lowest in the last decade and much lower than the long-term average of 21.2 mm. The low amount wasn't a record, however, which was a trace of moisture recorded in 1965. There were no record high or low temperatures recorded on the month. The warmest day was Oct. 1 when the mercury reached 24 degrees, and the coolest temperature was -9 recorded on Oct. 6. |
