The Crocus 80 Theatre group will be presenting their dinner theatre from Thursday, Dec. 1 to Sunday Dec. 4 at the Royal Canadian Legion hall. This year, Crocus 80 will be presenting the comedy, The Odd Couple: Female Version by Neil Simon. "It is basically the same storyline as the original Odd Couple," said actress and president of Crocus 80, D'arcy Megenbir. Simon has made a few changes to the original Odd Couple, such as instead of the guys playing poker, the girls are playing Trivial Pursuit, and instead of the sisters wooing the boys, the Spanish brothers woo the girls. Starring in The Odd Couple is Jennifer Woodard as Florence Unger and D'arcy Megenbir as Olive Madison. Also in the play are Bernadette Mullen as Mickey the Cop, Marianne Flaaten as Sylvie, Shawna Stephanson as Renee and Karen Kennedy-Allin as Veera. John Megenbir plays Manolo Costozuelo and Steve Zackrisson plays Jesus Costozuelo. Together, Megenbir and Zackrisson are the Spanish brothers. Behind the scenes, Kim Wheeler will be directing the play while Brenda Clarke and Don MacKinnon are the stage managers. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments and supper at 7 p.m. The show will begin at 8 p.m. There will also be a matinee show on Sunday at 2 p.m. Seating is unlimited for the matinee and tickets are available at the door. There are still seats available on Thursday and Friday, but all 125 tickets have been sold for the Saturday and Sunday performances. Tickets cost $25 and are available by calling Linda Schultz at the Royal Canadian Legion. |
