One record for a high temperature was broken and a low temperature record was tied during the month of November in Weyburn. According to the monthly weather statistics provided by the city's filtration plant, where the weather station is located, Weyburn broke a 51-year-old record on Nov. 22 when the mercury hit 14.5 degrees. The former record was 14, set back in 1954. This was not the warmest day of the month, as the thermometer reached 16 degrees on Nov. 10. The tie was for a low temperature, as the thermometer dipped to -25 degrees on Nov. 16, tying the record set in 1959. This was also the coldest temperature reached in November. For the most part, Weyburn's weather was much warmer and wetter than the long-term average for November. The average high temperature was 2.57, compared to the long-term average high of 1.02 degrees. The average low was -5.42 compared to the average of -9, and the overall mean temperature this year was -1.42. This compares to -3.99 for the long-term average, based on city records kept since 1952. The total precipitation was 27.2 millimetres water-equivalent, higher than the long-term average of 15.2 mm. |
