Many Weyburn area churches are planning a variety of activities and performances for the Christmas season.

Grace United Church will be holding a concert by the Contemporary Music Team on Sunday, Dec. 11. On Sunday, Dec. 18, the Chancel Choir will perform for the church.

Grace United Church will be holding their Blue Christmas service on Wednesday, Dec. 21 for anyone who is dealing with grief. On Saturday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. a family service will be held and then at 9 p.m. the communion service will be held. The Christmas Day service will be held Sunday, Dec. 25 at 10 a.m.

All Saints Anglican Church will be lighting the third Advent candle on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. The service on Sunday, Dec. 18 will be a service of lesson and carols and at 4 p.m. will be the Tree of Love service held in memory of loved ones who have died. The family Christmas Day service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.

Zion Lutheran Church will hold their Christmas Cantata on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. The Sunday School will hold their Christmas celebration at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18. The candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24 followed by the Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 25, the Christmas Day service will take place at 10 a.m.

St. Paul de Vincent Catholic Church will hold their Christmas Eve mass at 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, and their Christmas Day mass will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 25. The St. Paul de Vincent youth group will also be out before Christmas to sing their Carol-O-Grams.

Calvary Baptist Community Church will kick off their activities with a Christmas Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 at the Wheatland Senior Centre. The Christmas Eve service will be taking place on Saturday, Dec. 24.

The Weyburn Community Free Methodist Church will be holding a live nativity scene as part of the Kinsmen Club Twinkle Tour on Thursday, Dec. 8. On Sunday, Dec. 11 they will be hosting a music night entitled, Sounds Like Christmas. There will be a Christmas Eve service on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. and a Christmas Day service on Sunday, Dec. 25 at 10 a.m.

The Presbyterian Church will be holding a Christmas Concert and Supper on Sunday Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. and they will be having a Christmas Eve service on Saturday, Dec. 24.

The Church of Christ will be holding their Christmas Service on Sunday, Dec. 25. The title of the message by minister Scott Wade will be called, Why Jesus was Born.
