Entries are still needed for the 23rd annual James Weir Peoples' Choice Exhibition with the deadline on Monday, Dec. 19. So far there have been about five entries in the Exhibition, so the deadline may be extended to allow more entries to come in. "But not very much longer than that because of the holidays," said curator educator Jessica Telford. The James Weir Peoples' Choice Exhibition will take place from Thursday, Jan. 5 to Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery in the Weyburn Public Library. With the exposure given the exhibition for the month, it is an opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents. On Saturday, Jan. 21 for 1 to 4 p.m., there will be a workshop put on by professional artist and educator Wendy Peart from Regina. She will be doing a workshop on how to make exhibition proposals. To enter in the Peoples' Choice exhibition, forms can be picked up at the Signal Hill Arts Centre, the Weyburn Public Library or they can be mailed out by phoning Telford at the Signal Hill Arts Centre. |
