My parents are Craig and Laurel and I have four brothers and two sisters. This is our special family Christmas story. At the time this happened I was nearly two years old, but because our family tells this story every year I feel that I know it from heart. On December 25, 1995, early in the morning, we were hustled out of our beds early - not like most children getting excited to open presents, not because we thought we were going to see Santa, we were leaving this all behind. We had to go to grammas so mom could go to the hospital. It was time for the new little Haupstein to make its grand entrance. At 2:45 p.m. on Christmas Day we had a very special present, a new baby brother named Josiah Christian Haupstein. As we celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmas, we will also celebrate the birth of Josiah. Most Christmas presents get broken or we outgrow them. Believe it or not we have not broken Josiah and I don't think we will ever outgrow him. This special present will be around for years to come. |
