Leader meets local Liberals

Local Liberal supporters chat with provincial Liberal leader David Karwacki, centre, who came to Weyburn to have initial discussions about the expected byelection later this year for Weyburn-Big Muddy. No decision has been made as to who will run, although the leader said he may consider running in this riding. The current MLA, Brenda Bakken Lackey of the Saskatchewan Party, announced she would be stepping down as of Feb. 28.

Committe members visit museum

Saskatchewan Mens Curling Tankard committee members Harry Plemel, Dave Rommann, Scott Paxman and Bob Milligan look at a few curling rocks that are on display at the Turner Curling Museum on Thursday. The committee has been hard at work getting the curling rink and the Colosseum ready for the Tankard, which takes place from Wednesday, Feb. 8 to Sunday, Feb. 12.
