Tankard opening ceremonies

The Royal Canadian Legion colour party and an RCMP officer stand next to the teams that will be participating in the Saskatchewan Mens Provincial Tankard during the opening ceremonies at the Colosseum on Wednesday. Sixteen of the top curling teams from around the province gathered in Weyburn from Wednesday to Sunday for the competition. The winner of the Tankard will go on to represent their province at the Tim Horton's Brier, which takes place in Regina this year. Retaining possession

A Brandon Plainsmen player misses as Comp Eagles player Milessa Peterson grabs the basketball under the Brandon net, during girls basketball action on Friday night at the Comp gym. The Weyburn girls team won the game 69-42 to advance to the next game on Saturday against Regina O'Neill.
