The final cut

Students Nathan Pollock and Quintin Beckstead from 33 Central School in Fillmore show their Final Cut device at the regional science fair in Fillmore on Wednesday. Pollock and Beckstead's device runs off of solar power and it is designed to keep holes drilled in the ice of dugouts open so cattle can drink. The boys made the Final Cut to help farmers save time and energy when drilling in the ice. This exhibit was one of two overall winners who will compete at the Canada-wide science fair in Saguenay, Que. from Sunday, May 14 to May 21. For science fair results check out the March 22 issue of the Weyburn Review.
