Korean delegates visit Rotary Club

Members of a Korean group study exchange gather with Rotary Club president Bev Hansen after accepting gifts from the Weyburn club on Thursday evening, as the Weyburn Rotarians give them a standing ovation. The group are, from left, Lee Jung-Hon, Yoon Sang-Rok, Kim Hye-Ran, Lee Ae-Ran, Bev Hansen and team leader Shin Chan-Gi. They are in Canada for a total of four weeks, and are visiting throughout Rotary District 5550, which extends from Saskatchewan east to Kenora, Ont. They toured a number of sites Thursday and Friday before going on to Estevan over the weekend, and then on to Brandon and Winnipeg, Man.

Manning the phones

Jeff Schlosser, Ron Bartlett, Al York and Mike King work the phones during the Weyburn Young Fellows TV Auction on Saturday at McKenna Hall. Many residents either came to the hall or phoned to make bids on over 500 items. The TV Auction is in its 49th year as one of the Young Fellows' biggest fund-raisers and all the money made will go back into the community.
