First-timer at fiddle contest

Taylor Howe of Carlyle fiddles her three tunes while accompanied by Michele Amy on guitar, during the Novice category of the Old-Time Fiddling Contest held at McKenna Hall on Saturday. Amy is also president of the Saskatchewan Fiddlers' Association, and she performed in the Championship category. This was the sixth year Weyburn has hosted a fiddle contest with contestants from all over Saskatchewan attending.

Mini-Go, junior high line for lunch

Students from the two junior high schools and the Family Place's Mini-Go program both line up to get some sandwiches and fruit for their picnic lunch on Friday. The Mini-Go staff and students hosted the picnic for the junior high students in appreciation for their volunteer time with the Mini-Go children on their swim days at the Leisure Centre. The picnic was held under warm but windy conditions at Jubilee Park near the playground.
