Mother's Day blooms from heaven

Annie Legin has a look at the blossoms flowering on her pear tree in the back yard of her Maple Drive home on Friday. Legin considers the flowers as "blooms from heaven" as this tree never produced any flowers until May of 2003, just after her daughter Caroline died. The tree had stood in her yard for 14 years before that, and she was told by an Ag rep that this tree would never flower. The tree has been blooming every year in May, in time for Mother's Day, since the year her daughter passed. This year, the tree started flowering on April 29 and she hopes will still be on the tree for Mother's Day, on Sunday, May 14.
