Getting on their mark

Students get on their mark to start the 1600 m race during the Hershey District track meet on Saturday. Athletes include, from left to right, Cordell Perry from Griffin, Branden Hartley from Alida, Stacey Dancey from Carnduff, Candice Kotylak from Montmartre, and Brett Schmidt from St. Michael Junior High. The Hershey District track meet included student athletes from Zone 1, with qualifying placers proceeding on to provincials.

WIT head shave for cancer

Weyburn Inland Terminal employee Scott Benning gets his head shaved by Natosha Hala at the WIT offices on Wednesday as a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society. The terminal's board had challenged their employees to see whether more board members or employees would get their head shaved. The employees won the challenge as 16 staff members lost their hair compared to the 11 board members, raising just over $11,800 for cancer research.
