Looking for booty on Treasure Island

The pirates confront Jim Hawkins on the island to demand where the treasure is hidden, in a scene from the musical version of Treasure Island to be performed at Assiniboia Park School as part of Education Week. Students from Grades 4-6 comprise the cast of the musical, directed by Colleen Weimer, and will perform the musical on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in the school gym. Admission will be a "piece of gold" (a loonie), with all proceeds going towards the Communithon.

Sharing a lunch with a buddy

Kindergarten student Kelsey Hennig has her Thanksgiving lunch with her reading buddy Brooklyn Arts at noon on Wednesday at St. Dominic Savio School. The Grade 4 class came down to the kindergarten room to have the luncheon with their reading buddies, which consisted of homemade turkey noodle soup and homemade buns.
