Horse and rider at sunset

Jade Ivan sits astride her horse JT Special Parr, or "Cricket" as she calls him, taking in the sunset while at her practice ring located near her farm just southeast of Weyburn on Thursday. Jade is a member of the Weyburn 4-H Light Horse Club, and is busy with Cricket learning how to jump and ride English-style as part of her 4-H project. A Grade 12 student at the Comp School, Jade is also a Junior Leader in her 4-H club, and is also a member of the Weyburn 4-H Beef Club along with her brother Reed.

Congratulating the winner

Mayoral candidate Ray Hamm stops by to congratulate winning candidate Mayor Debra Button at Button's campaign party at the Legion Hall on Wednesday evening. This was Hamm's first shot at the mayor's chair and Button's second, with Button coming out on top by 95 votes. Button will take over from three-term mayor Don Schlosser, who stepped down after serving for 20 years on council; Hamm has been on council for 15 years.
