Record low temperature set in Dec. weather for city

Weyburn tied one low record in December, but still maintained overall higher than average temperatures throughout the month, while experiencing average precipitation.

On Dec. 3 the temperature dropped to -30.0 degrees, tying the previous record low that was set in 1978.

This was not the lowest temperature of the month, as the temperature dropped to -30.5 degrees on Dec. 7. The highest temperature for the month was on Dec. 8, as the temperature rose to 6.0 degrees.

The average high temperature for December was -3.32 degrees, slightly warmer than the long-term average of -6.36 degrees.

The average low temperature for December was -13.98 degrees, which is also slightly warmer than the long-term average of -16.37 degrees.

The mean temperature for the month was -8.65 degrees, warmer than the long-term average of -11.36 degrees.

The total amount of precipitation for the month of December was 15 mm (water equivalent), which is slightly below the long-term average of 18.7 mm.

The city received a total of 483.6 mm of precipitation for the 2006 year.
