As the contractor has started to work on the first phase of the St. Michael Junior High School renovation project, the next step in the project process is to hold a meeting for parents of St. Michael's students and St. Dominic School students on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at St. Michael's at 7 p.m.

This step includes working with those who have a vested interest in the moving of St. Dominic's students to St. Michael's. This meeting is designed to get the input of parents, and for educators to work with parents to discuss all the items that need to be addresses before decisions and plans are made.

Extracurricular activities for the junior high school include basketball season, cheerleading and choir. The SRC auction at the end of December was a great success, with the candy-grams raising about $130.

Concert band, jazz band, junior band, Grade 9 band and a number of smaller groups will be performing at the music festival in March, so members of these groups will be working on their pieces at home and can receive help at school.

A school community council meeting was held on Jan. 16, in the school library.
