Nominations are now open for volunteer awards for the Southeast Saskatchewan Association for Culture, Recreation and Sports (SESACRS Nominations can range from a dedicated individual at the local museum, someone who volunteers at the rink, an always-available referee, an administrator of a local swim club or a youth who volunteers hours with the Special Olympians. Organizations, clubs, recreation boards, schools, seniors centres, museums, municipal boards, and teams can nominate a person as long as they live in the boundaries of Zone 1. Nominations are in the categories of heritage conservation, culture, youth, recreation, administration, and in sports, the athlete, team, official and coach of the year respectively. The deadline for nominations are March 15 to be in to Bob King of Weyburn, and the awards ceremonies will be held in Moosomin on Sunday, April 22. The ceremony will start at 2 p.m. with the awards, entertainment and a banquet.
