March Madness begins at the Weyburn Comp School

"March Madness" begins at the Weyburn Comprehensive School after a mid-winter break, as there will be several events for students and staff at the school. Action gets starts this weekend, Friday, Mar. 2 and Saturday, Mar. 3 with curling championships, basketball tournaments and a national debate tournament.

Steve Schuck and Jordan Rederburg, along with coach Kelly Glaspey, will be attending the national debate tournament in Toronto, representing Saskatchewan along with two other teams. Schuck and Rederburg had also participated in the provincials over the break, where teams from Saskatoon dominated the results.

Other events coming up for the WCS include the Grade 11/12 choir going to Telemiracle in Saskatoon on Sunday, Mar. 4; competing in the Weyburn Rotary Carol Festival, which starts with the piano portion on Monday, Mar. 5; competing in the Regina Optimist Band Festival on Thursday, Mar. 15; and a SRC/Rotary Music fundraising concert on Sunday, Mar. 18.
