Feeding a calf

Charlene Stinson bottle feeds a dairy calf at El-Nell Farms, located east of Weyburn. The calves are bottle fed for about a week before they are put onto a machine for feeding for about three months. The machine slowly takes the calf off of milk so they can graze with the mature cattle. The farm has approximately 220 head of dairy cattle, about twice the size of the average milking operation.
