Sr. Beaver Mike Larson to play baseball in Germany

Yellow Grass native Peter Schaefer of the Ottawa Senators will be hitting the ice from Friday, March 16 to Sunday, March 18 with a pink hockey stick to support the fight against breast cancer as part of the second annual TPS Tribute to Hockey Moms.

Schaefer will be one of many NHL players using a special edition TPS Hockey pink stick featuring the pink ribbon-the internationally recognized symbol in the fight against breast cancer.

The sticks will be used in practices, pre-game warm-ups and games throughout the weekend.

Following the tribute weekend, the limited edition hockey sticks will be autographed by the NHL players and auctioned on eBay Canada. Funds raised will support breast cancer research through the NHL/NHLPA's Hockey Fight Cancer Program and its Canadian charity partner, the Canadian Cancer Society.

In addition to the player-used stick auction, TPS Hockey will make their special edition pink sticks available to retail locations across the country. Hockey players at all levels will be able to purchase their own pink stick in order to help raise funds in support of the fight against breast cancer. TPS Hockey will donate five per cent of the proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society for each stick sold.
