Weyburn plays host to the Zone Adult Winter Games

Weyburn played host to the Zone 1 Adult Winter Games over the weekend which featured competitions in volleyball, hockey, bowling, badminton, darts and snooker.

Winning the volleyball competition was the Allan Fong team, and second place went to the Monte McNaughton team.

In badminton, the A-side singles winner was Phil Greenwood with Rob Hildebrand as the runner-up. Kevin Folk was the B-side winner, while Charles Eddy was the runner-up.

Dave Gallaway and Neil Kish were the A-side winners in doubles badminton, while Charles Eddy and Rod Finney placed second. On the B-side, the winners were Doug Giroux and Brian Adam, while Rob Stairmand and Jon Michaud placed second.

The winner of the darts singles event was Al Clark. Second place went to Harvey Dykstra and third went to Tom Schutz. The doubles event was won by Al Clark and Joe Dolan, while Penny Meyers and Vern Schotts took second.

Winning the A-event in hockey was the Weyburn Demons team. The B-event winners were the Kendal Klippers and the C-event winners were the Weyburn Redcoat Bruins. The Francis Stars were the winners of the D-event.

Eldon Strawford was the winner of the snooker event. Placing second was Norbert Schultz and Willy Nimegeers placed third.

In bowling, the winner of the singles first flight was Darla Brenholen. Coming in second was Jo-Ann Paxman. Jack Jones won the second flight, with Deb Pitre taking second place.

The winner of the third flight was Mon Lee. Second place went to Annette Petersen. In the team event, the winners were Stu Peterson, Jack Jones and Mark Neuberger. Coming in second were Josh Williams, Jacquie Williams and Annette Petersen.
