St. Michael student Dakota Thiel will be advancing to the third annual CanSpell National Spelling Bee in Ottawa on Wednesday, April 11, which runs four days until Saturday, April 14. Preliminary rounds will be broadcast on www.canspell.com on Friday, April 13 at 11 a.m., and the finals will be broadcast on Saturday, Apr. 14, at 7 p.m. on Global. After competing at the CanSpell National level, Thiel will be traveling to Washington, D.C., for the 80th Scripps National Spelling Bee. St. Michael teachers and students are very proud of Thiel and wish him the best of luck. The band students at St. Mike's recently completed competition in the Weyburn Rotary Music Festival and are planning for their band trip, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday, May 24 and 25, in Saskatoon. Students from St. Mike's, along with teacher Becky Tuchscherer, attended the first annual Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) conference in Regina, bringing back some ideas to be implemented at the school. Students of the month for the month of March are Tenille Arts, Tamlyn Sabados, Russell Lenferna, Cortnee Adacsi, Brittney Delanoy and Dawson Dimmick. |
